Murder Investigation Lab

The murder investigation lab was a great lab to practice finding the molarity of a substance. My lab partners and I mixed Silver nitrate with sodium carbonate to form a substance. We then filter out the substance known as silver carbonate and took the mass of it after it dried for a day. We then determined the molarity of the substance and determined the killer was Mr. Green.

Test Thoughts

I don't believe the test was too difficult. What helped me was doing the practice test that are online and reading the book. Next time I will continue to complete the practice test, but I will also study for 10 minutes longer each day.

Dilution Lab

In class Friday we did a quick lab to reinforce what we learned in class that day about dilution. The lab included placing 20 drops of food coloring into 10mL of water. Then taking one mL of the stock solution and placing it in 9 mL of water. We continued this pattern until the food coloring was no longer visible. We then used the formula M1V1=M2V2 to perform the correct calculations.
